Maria Treglia, CPCU, RPLU
Maria Treglia, Senior Vice President, Program Brokerage Corporation (PBC), a wholesale unit of Hub International Limited, has been working in the insurance industry for over 16 years, holding various positions as both an underwriter and on the brokerage side. An employee of PBC since 2003, Maria is a specialist exclusively on executive protection and professional liability lines.
Prior to joining HUB International, Ms. Treglia held the position of Underwriting Manager for Kemper Financial Insurance Solutions focusing on writing commercial malpractice and financial institution business in the E & O and D & O product areas. She specifically helped create the EPL product within Kemper and was integral in writing the policy forms and applications and in negotiations with reinsurers. She was also a part of AIG’s and Chubb’s Executive Protection Department concentrating exclusively on writing malpractice, D&O and Employment Practices insurance lines.
Recognized as the most prestigious designations to have in the insurance industry, Maria holds both a Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU) accreditation.
She is frequently asked to speak at many well-known industry seminars and events, having recently presented at the Professional Liability Underwriting Society Fall convention; at The College of Insurance, her alumnus; and various panel discussions regarding Malpractice and the current state of the industry.
Maria has authored a number of articles on Professional Liability that have been published in some of the world’s top insurance trade publications including National Underwriter, The John Liner Review andInsurance Advocate magazines to name a few.
Additionally, Maria serves as a huge resource for over 200 offices of HUB International Limited throughout the United States and Canada. She has become the leading go-to expert on Professional Liability related matters throughout the HUB organization of over 5,000 employees.
Maria was recently nominated to act as Chair for the PLUS (Professional Liability Underwriting Society) Eastern Chapter Committee for the 2010-2011 term
